  3. Anthropologically, we would subconsciously work out a sustainable balance. The reason for falling birthrates is the country is already hopelessly overcrowded. Pyramid scheme economics only compounds this unsustainability

  4.  @w4447  I'm in the UK, where overpopulation is highly self evident. Pressure on finite resources (the law of supply and demand) is what elevates food prices, Less people = lower food (and real estate) prices. Elevated prices are indicative of an imbalance. High levels of immigration can only exacerbate this. Like you say, it's not rocket science, but, despite this, many people seem unable to put two and two together.
