Steam engines saved an awful lot of back breaking toil, and opened up a myriad of other labour saving devices

@roguesgallery4228 The mind is like a parachute, it works better when it's open

Well said. The narrative has been properly skewed

But you'd have no one to blame if everybody was poor

That's one reading, and I'm deeply dubious about the reach of the MIC myself ( Dr Strangelove is one of my favourites). However, post Iron Curtain, and the French being hoofed out of Indochina, the need to stop the expansion of communist influence seems to fit with the subsequent pattern of warfare (from Korea to Angola). At least, until 9/11. And reading between the lines, it's possible to infer how that history unfolds. The Palestinians/( Arab cause) were keen on hijacking aeroplanes prior to that. (e.g. Entebbe)

I'd say you can either wallow in the mire, or try and dig yourself out. And only if you've dug yourself out are you in any position to help someone else out of it

I waited a long time for some help, then I invested in a spade (!)

He doesn't deny it, he seeks to account for it

They call it "controlling the narrative" now. Thankfully, there are other voices in the wilderness, and The Ministry of Truth isn't getting it all it's own way
1
To a certain extent. Though the lesson from history might be that if you're not territorial, you're going to get wiped out by someone that is
1
Noone claimed to be. The fallibility was in the history books too
1
That's what he's going up against

Bit of a sweeping generalisation perhaps, but maybe I'm not a liberal. And maybe many liberals are not as liberal as they like to think they are
