Germany's independence is at threat but not from Russia. It's Ukraine and the Eu that is pressuring it to go in a direction it is not comfortable with. Who is really bullying Germany?

@Chuck_Hooks in which scenario do you see Russia going through all those NATO states and reaching Germany to pose a real threat? Common sense says any battle will be fought in eastern Europe. Protecting oneself from missiles is another issue. That is always a problem regardless of the location of a country.

@Chuck_Hooks you have not answered how Russia will get over all the NATO states to Germany. That is impossible. If Russia ever moves past Ukraine the war will be fought with NATO on Eastern Europe. That is not really debatable. Now Finland especially is a whole different issue. They are very vulnerable to Russia. They should arm. They should join NATO.

@Chuck_Hooks so now you jumped to Poland. Still no answer how a Russian army will reach Germany without engaging NATO in Eastern Europe. Maybe you should answer or concede on that point. Poland should be very worried. They have been very aggressive towards Russia in this whole matter. A bit coward with the planes though. Anyway if Russia ever goes past Ukraine I am betting its Poland. That would be WWIII though so lets hope it does not go there. I don't have a dog in this current fight but I do like the current benefits of civilisation so I am much opposed to WWIII.

@Chuck_Hooks Germany must try to protect against hyper sonic missiles. The rest is not as important. Of course years of under investing has come to bite them. I think its smart to get their own weapons. Of course its dumb of nations that have the capability of developing their own fighters to rely on USA. Europe really need to sort themselves out. BTW isn't there an American base on Germany? Why would they need F35 jets to carry nuclear weapons that are not their own? But lets be realist. It will never come to a war with western Europe. Russia cannot win. It is impossible. They will never bite off that much.
