L hello from America.
Our mainstream media isn’t very good about Russia. One thing that makes it especially bad is who gets invited to talk on things or sit on a public panel as the supposed expert about Russia. They are Almost always one of three categories:
1. Former military or intelligence, who made a career out of preparing make war against Russia
2. A descendent of somebody who left the Soviet Union ideally during Stalin.
3. Someone who left Russia, ideally in the 1990s
4. Someone from an eastern country formerly aligned with Russia but now in NATO +/EU
As you can see, all these people are preselected from populations that are bound to be anti-Russian, and that was what made them popular to begin with in order to rise in prominence to where they are now considered authorities. You are never going to see TV featuring someone who left Russia and regards it fondly as their beloved home. You are never going to get an interview with a former Russian military officer or statesman, explaining the Russian perspective or feeling sympathetically.
Yeah, our so-called experts often come from something in the universities called “Russian studies”. Keep in mind to graduate even with a masters or doctorate in this. You don’t actually need to learn the Russian language, meet, a Russian, or even go to Russia. And these programs are mostly instructed by people from either the anti-Russian countries or the descendants of people that got picked on by Stalin. And what these programs do is essentially manufacture people crimes to be anti-Russia, so they can go into the military or intelligence as prepackaged professional Russia haters.
