@CabbageSandwich Actually, rosy feather is right. We should not believe Peeet just because he asserts something. I want to see a link.

Not sure I trust the government with this power of night vision. Power corrupts. I'm concerned they will be used against the people.

Rebellion against the capitol! The time is now! What, Panem? I'm talking about WA DC!

I always vote Libertarian, even if I know the L will lose. Here is my reasoning: the odds that my single vote will change the outcome of the election are essentially nil, since in elections with more than about 10,000 votes cast, it has never happened before that the margin of victory was one vote. My single vote therefore lacks the power to keep the greater of evils out of office. What then can my vote do? It can make me feel good or bad. That's it. For me, voting Libertarian makes me feel good. I feel like I have voted in accordance with my values. I never "hold my nose and vote for the lesser of evils" and then go home and take a shower. That would leave me feeling bad. I only vote for a candidate if they rise to my standards. I often leave races blank. I know that if I vote for someone who wins, I must accept a share of blame for all the evil things they might do while in office.

Thank you so much. I was addicted for a year or so to a scam YouTube channel called Suspicious Observers. The guy sells catastrophe. Doom porn. He says the Earth will flip, and the oceans will slosh, inundating most of the dry land. Don't buy his textbook. It is total garbage. Weatherman's Guide to the Sun. Wish I could have that money back!

@Tattlebot And the government can just print as much money as it wants...

The Prisoners' Dilemma is related to the Tragedy of the Commons. Both users of the commons have an incentive to over-use it. But that results in destruction of the commons. If the cooperate, they can both use the commons without destroying it. But one way to escape the tragedy of the commons is to privatize it.

Wow! Great video! Glad I took the SAT back in 1980, and not in '82. I would have answered 3! :)

Reticent means not talking. Reluctant means afraid to.

I'd give Norman Borlaug the credit for saving Billions of lives. And Borlaug did not also create explosives and chemical weapons.

The media, both the left and the right, has lied to us so much, that we discount new data, and go back to our political biases.

Sea levels are rising at a rate of about an inch per century. But you show a flood with several feet of water rise. This is a form of lie.

Thanks! :)

And Cardano is now the name of a crypto-currency... which is based on math.

I don't think storms are getting worse. I think the efforts to reduce oil and natural gas consumption will tend to hurt the poor and wreck the economy.

Cool! My intuition was totally wrong. :)

Wow. That was a good one! I read Goedel, Escher Bach in the early '80's, and it lead me want to study Goedel's Theorem in college. Cool stuff! And your card explanation is the clearest I've ever seen of the Incompleteness Theorem. Congrats!

#2, wealth redistribution tends to destroy jobs for the poorest. #1, Ceding unlimited power to the government creates a dictatorship, and that also tends to hurt the poorest.

Cool! When I was in college in the '80's at Cornell, my faculty advisor, Andy Ruina, had a little model he was working on. He was trying to get a car that was powered by a propeller to advance IN to the wind. Don't know if he ever got it to work...
