Good for them. I hope they continue to wisely leverage what they have to get out from under foreign creditors.

@Spacedog79 I am all for more nuclear. And US Navy nuclear has proven that it IS the safest form of energy that we can use. Thank Admiral Hyman G. Rickover for that.

Yeah, tell that to the Allies in World War 2. Unless you would prefer to be speaking in German? Spare us your moral outrage.

"War is good for business," -Ferengi Rule of Acquisition #34.

@theoutlook55 I think you are mistaken on both accounts. The US Navy builds nuclear reactor cores with great regularity. The technology has become cheaper over time. Most of the costs today are REGULATORY rather than technological. As for nuclear waste, we DID have a place to put it: Yucca Mountain Nuclear Repository. It was slated to open in 1996 until Dingy Harry Reid and Dan Coats killed it. Trump tried to reopen it but was stymied by Congress. Indeed, Japan would have paid the US to store its waste in the 90s, and had Congress not killed it, Fukushima would NOT have been as bad as it was. So in short, while I applaud your openness to nuclear power, I hope that your eyes also are opened to the myths and lies surrounding nuclear power today. It is those myths that do more harm than the reactors and the waste itself.

@theoutlook55 Youtube/Google is notorious for shadow-banning people and stealth deletes of posts that don't conform to the official orthodoxy. And yes, outside links seem to automatically get dropped, so you have to be clever about sharing it.

No, most people in the west are oblivious to the oil and Gas deposits off the coast of Crimea. Or the Coal and oil deposits beneath Donbas.

Okay, so why not fill in the land? That is what the South Koreans are doing to the areas of the sea they are targeting for reclamation.

You have hooked my curiosity. I am most certainly interested in hearing more.

@winstonmaraj8029 Cool!

Al Jazeera is still heavily bias towards jihadism, though.

@harun776 And the Baltic states of Poland joining did present a security threat? Spare us the Kremlin drivel. The ONLY reason why Finland and Sweden abandoned their historic neutrality was BECAUSE of RUSSIAN aggression, not NATO expansion.

@kennethli8 The problem with that though is you get Weimar Germany or Mugabe's Zimbabwe. Just printing money with nothing to back it up makes the currency worthless.

That prediction has been made since the 70s and still has no panned out. If "renewables" really were viable, someone would have already dominated the market and build a fortune like Rockefeller.
1
@winstonmaraj8029 Famous last words, dude. Men and women smarter than you have said the same thing and have been wrong. All of the advocates of "green energy" for decades before you were wrong, and NOTHING has changed since then. If "Renewables" really were as you say, then someone would have already cornered the market and become the John D. Rockefeller of green energy already. It hasn't happened and is not likely to happen anytime in the near future.

@winstonmaraj8029 I have, much Adu about nothing. These are the same empty headlines as the ones in the 1970s about the same topic. Almost word for word exactly the same, in fact. You are being sold a bill of goods. "A sucker is born even minute," -P.T. Barnum
1
@winstonmaraj8029 I would take the bet, but you will never pay it out. Again, the advocates of green energy made the same prediction in 1970 and 50 years later it still hasn't come true. You will never admit you are wrong because this isn't about environmental protection, this is poorly disguised neo-pagan Gaia worship.
1
@winstonmaraj8029 Apples to oranges false analogy. But then that is typical of con artists and snake oil salesmen. "Tell a lie often enough and people take it for the gospel truth," -attributed to Joseph Goebbels.
1
@winstonmaraj8029 That is a religious prayer based on wishful thinking and no objective data. You are a religious zealot.
