mark Mierzejewski When was that? You realize the media completely fabricated that just like they did with Nicolas Sandman and the Covington Catholic kids? Just like they lied about Kyle Rittenhouse. Just like they pushed the Jussie Smollett hoax.
1
Agreed. This is no different than the Star Chamber proceedings that were typical in monarchal Europe.
1
@yahyaelmi8435 Yes results matter. It should be clear from Afghanistan and Iraq that Richard Nixon's "Vietnamization" policy doesn't work, particularly if the locals have zero interest in fighting for their own country. It should also be clear that America's flag officers are all guilty of treason and are as worthless as the Russian MOD flag officers because they put their own promotion and prestige ahead of combat readiness. Pursing DIE quotas rather than Jihadis is why Kabul fell just like Saigon did.
1
@CGplay186 "Win the battle but lose the war" Ever heard of that saying? The US has rarely lost any major engagement since WW2. The problem is that feckless politicians and Miles Glorious Generals sabotage the men on the ground, then cut and run at the first sign of trouble. They waste lives and resources just to look good on camera.
1
@dambadaniel4389 Russia's arugments are essentially the same ones that the Germans claimed about the Jews. "Stop oppressing me!" while they are beating people.
1
Why did Russia need to invade Georgia in 2008? You do realize that Sweden and Finland, historically neutral states only joined BECAUSE of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
1
If the public doesn't support it, then why have the governments not been voted out of office or toppled? Unless you believe in the same autocratic despotism of Putin, the answer points to itself.
1
Blatatnyl ignoring the NATO requirement of not having a disputed border or territorial disagreements huh? THAT is why the Georgia application failed. That is why Putin invades Ukraine.
1
Yeah, their anti-American bias, fashionable antisemitism in the form of "anti-Zionism", and Trump derangement syndrome blinds them to critical details.
1
Indeed. Just the requirements of an Amphibious operation to cross the Taiwan strait is enough to shut down most arguments.
1
@cfcheng8702 Those are fair points. I agree that if they locals will not fight, why should we. However, I DO think that the population of Formosa will fight.
1
There are some MAJOR differences between Taiwan's defense and Ukraine's. For one, the Taiwan strait is NOT so easily crossed. The Chinese "People's Liberation Army" would have to conduct a MASSIVE amphibious operation that would dwarf not just the Normandy landing but also the proposed Kyushu landing (Operation: Olympic). Red China so far has shown zero capability of conducting such a massive undertaking. The few times they have attempted amphibious operations, they have been abject failures.
1
@frederikzinn5427 Which US president encouraged Putin to invade Ukraine? Might I remind you that the theft of Crimea occurred while Biden was directing Obama's foreign policy. Further, the drive to Kiev occurred while Biden was in the White House. The world respects a strong horse, and Biden is clearly an invalid with incompetent staffers who have zero understanding of realpolitik.
1
No, not likely. Dean Acheson's infamous "Pacific Defense Perimeter" included Taiwan but not South Korea. Guess where the commies attacked?
1
You do realize that Taiwan and Mainland China have been divided far longer than the Two Koreas? Unless you are advocating for the immediate union of the peninsula, I don't think you can deny Taiwan the same independence that South Korea enjoys.
1
Have you forgotten the Korean War? No, the problem isn't the American GI not wanting to fight. The problem is feckless cowards among the flag officers and politicians who abandon allies at critical moments.
1
@ĐoànĐạiDương-f1n Quantity is NOT quality. Lots of little fishing boats are NOT the same as a Ticonderoga-class missile cruiser.
1
@ĐoànĐạiDương-f1n China is spectacularly bad at amphibious operations. Any attempt to take Formosa would require one so big that it would dwarf the proposed Kyushu Landing of Operation: Olympic. And all of those troop transports would be easy pickings for allies Subs because China's ASW capabilities are equally terrible.
1
Yeah, people grossly underestimate the immense requirements to conduct amphibious operations. And the Chinese have proven to be terrible at even small-scale attempts.
1
@JC-ql3ld While I agree with most of your positions, the WASP part was completely uncalled for. White Anglo-Saxon Protestants tend to be MORE favorable to Taiwan. It is the militant atheist elites who are favorable to Red China and would leave Formosa out in the cold.
1
@stephan2wolf You are trying to apply logic in a situation dominated by emotions and passion. Wisdom has nothing to do with war and battle. You are engaging in an act of futility to try.
1
What happens when one party refuses a peaceful solution? What happens if one side will accept nothing less than the complete subjugation of the other? A peaceful solution is no possible when those preconditions are in place.
1
Taiwan doesn't have the resources to maintain a supercarrier. Japan might, and I would be okay with them having a couple.
1
Who, what an rabidly anti-American way of looking at the world. Tell me, how does India play in that Hegemony? How about Brazil? Or Africa? And you blatantly ignore both Russia and China's own hegemonic moves. Spare the moral outrage, if it wasn't the US, you would be complaining about France or the UK if they were the big dog in NATO.
1
You are trying to apply Western thinking to a communist totalitarian. Xi views the word through the same lenses as Joseph Stalin, not Winston Chruchill.
1
@PNH-sf4jz It is a pity you refuse to debate merits. I was on topic; you just can't argue against any of my points.
1
@XxBloggs This is the French we are talking about. The bloody cowards have still not handed over the French officers who activily participated in the Rwandan genocide.
1
Just to thumb their nose at the west. NATO is burning equipment stockpiles supporting Ukraine, which actually benefits China in their plans to take Taiwan. The more gear sent to Ukraine, the less that is available for Taiwan.
1
@JesusSaysMAGAtrashMAGAfilth Thank you for proving you don't actually have anything coherent to say. Engaging in ad hominins like you just did proves you have lost the plot. "“I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left.” ― Iron Margaret Thatcher
1
You said that in 2016 and were eating crow. Haven't you learned that it is not wise to bet against a Casino owner?
1
Garland has EVERY reason to bring ANY case against Trump forward. The fact that he and the Feds chose NOT to go forward on the finance case shows that there was no case to be made. Yeah, the president has original authority to declassify any and all documents. Biden as VP at the time he removed classified documents did not, nor did Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. The Marilago documents were kept in a safe AND LOCK provided by the National Archives, so that alone blows up their case against Trump. January 6th is also proving to have been a false flag just like the Reichstag Fire. Federal agents have been proven to be among the primary instigators of the violence. Further, almost all of the people who actually made it into the chambers WERE ESCORTED BY CAPITOL POLICE. GA election is yet another nothing burger because it is NOT a crime to work the legal system if you have a complain about the election process. Criminalizing opposition is what they do in Belarus, not the US.
1
Yes, because karma has a funny way of coming back to hurt those people who wish evil on others. "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it (and EVERYTHING that comes with it)"
1
Yeah, their Trump derangement Syndrome makes the blind to critical details which completely shatters their narrative.
1
@livingtribunal4110 Sorry, my bad. So many people here are exactly what George Orwell described. Particularly with regards to blindly accepting what the inner party tells them to think. Again, I apologize for lashing out.
1
@JesusSaysMAGAtrashMAGAfilth Grover Cleaveland's 1892 rematch against Benjamin Harrison. Trump WILL repeat that, and for the exact same reasons.
1
Yeah, you people said the same thin in 2016. how did that work out?
1
@cooldudecs Independents are having buyer's remorse over electing Biden. Further, they see this as a political witch hunt and are NOT impressed, further hurting the Dems. You are only making him a maryter. "Strike me down and I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine," -Obi Wan Kenobi, "A New Hope".
1
@JesusSaysMAGAtrashMAGAfilth Grover Cleaveland rematch against Benjamin Harrison. Who won? Trump IS going to repeat Cleeland's feat for the very same reasons; buyer's remorse. Learn your history.
1
Lost support with independents? You have not been paying attention. Turmp got MORE votes in 2020 than he did in 2016. Biden however, has only gone downhill since his inauguration. Buyer's remorse is strong among independents.
1
@hansvandermeer7635 Nominally, you feed them the rope the use to hang themselves. But Times Radio has chosen to be willing participants in spreading anti-West propaganda.
1
I think it is MUCH deeper than just 30 meters otherwise nuclear supercarriers would not be able to travel through it. Nor would nuclear boomers.
1
@peterbeer8657 Rules vs. Law? You are trying to make a distinction where none really exists. You aren't familiar with Mao and yet you are shilling for his government? Not surprising for a blind partisan. And as far as bullying and threats, well, people like you are VERY familiar with it because that is what government is all about: the threat of violence against their own people. "All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party." -Chairman Mao Zedong, August 1927.
1
@peterbeer8657 Laws are only as strong as the force of arms that impose them. For a shill of the PRC, you should be familiar with What about Mao about Law at the end of a gun. Applies in this case, if Beijing wants that resolution (which is NOT a law) enforced, then they have to be willing to fight.
1
Both Beijing and Pyongyang are Communist and effectively joined at the hip.
1
@peterflavian-ov4sh The Arabs who call themselves "Palestinian" already have a country of their own in the Gaza. They have ruined it just like they did when they lived in Jordan or Lebanon. They can't blame Israel when it is their own rulers who have misused the foreign donations to wage war on their neighbors.
1
Indeed. The two have been separated far longer than the Koreans have and there are two Koreas today, not one.
1
Ukraine didn't have a choice in the matter. Are you saying that they should just roll over and accept slavery to Moscow? How very despotic of you. I hope you prefer living on your knees as a subject rather than on your feet as a free person.
1
Don't forget, while Trump was in office, Putin didn't dare mess around with Ukraine. He stole Crimea while Biden was directing Obama's foreign policy.
1
Quantity only has merit if it meets minimum quality requirements. 10 million flintlock guns are not going to be of much use against 1,000 M1 Grands.
1
@abrakadavra3193 Agreed. When the leadership of the US starts acting like the very autocrats, they accuse Trump of being, you know they are terrified of losing power, just like in those dictatorships.
