  4.  @jackbaldwin3649  millions of people live here with no issues ever. My OPINON is lead a normal honest life and you will be just fine here, use Common sense like anywhere in the world. Merida esp. is a totally safe place to live. The locals are coming here for the safety even.

  6.  @DestinationRetirement  No we do not, we were planning on moving but our friends wanted us to watch their home for the summer while they are back in Canada, we will be moving to Xalapa Veracruz in the fall. It's always been our plan to move around Mexico and live for a year or so in each destination. After Xalapa we will move to Mexico city or somewhere close to it, then Oaxaca. Then work our way in the southern states back to the Caribbean coast. So far that's the plan. Ya we are done with this heat lol We do love it here the location is perfect really. No way could I live here for a long period of time though, we are going on 2 years and we are done lol take care friend, hope you can find your destination to escape the heat . San Chris Chiapas is nice as well we visited there over Christmas, weather is perfect.

Yes racism is world wide thankfully we are not. A Mexican living in Canada actually helped us with transportation here. God bless you and your family ✌️ I'm out.

Nah a good friend from Mexico is living and working in Canada he helped us with transportation to get here. HaHa ya we lived in Merida for 6 months the North end of Merida is like any big city in the USA prob nicer than most We are now in Progreso 30min away beach town and all the rich locals are here now for the summer with big boats and jet skies driving high end cars n SUV'S at their beach homes Its not as poor as people think that's for sure and def safer than plp think as well We just love the freedom we have here and the cost of living the food is way better the people are friendlier than Canada, everything is better in our opinion Thanks for sharing Cheers from 2 Canadians living on the Gulf Of Mexico Yucatan Peninsula J&D
