@Srez-mj8sj russia invaded afghanistan and left after 10 years of trying to win taking it over....once they realized they could never win. America went in to shut down osama bin ladens training camps.....which they did. And the afhan govt requested america to stay to fight against the taliban terrorists. america left afghanistan when it wanted to. Russia left because they lost and were broke and the soviet union collapsed shortly afterwards. Just as russia will collapse shortly after it loses in Ukraine. Try not to cry too many tears for being on the losing side, YOU are the only disgrace here.

@Srez-mj8sj Read it and weep: " These uprisings, along with internal fighting and coups within the government between the People’s and Banner factions, prompted the Soviets to invade the country on the night of December 24, 1979, sending in some 30,000 troops and toppling the short-lived presidency of People’s leader Hafizullah Amin. The aim of the Soviet operation was to prop up their new but faltering client state, now headed by Banner leader Babrak Karmal, but Karmal was unable to attain significant popular support."

dear lavrov...the west welcomed russia with open arms when it became a democracy in the early 90s....as soon as it switched to dictator for life and invaded smaller neighbouring countries it lost its welcome to the rest of the world. KARMA

so good of russia to quit after trying to invade afghanistan for 10 years...then going bankrupt and collapsing.....now rusia invades ukraine and is going bankrupt again. I wonder how many regions will break away from russia after they surrender? I wonder how much of russia will be given to Ukraine as war reparations?

Russia went bankrupt fighting afghanistan, and now is going bankrupt fighting Ukraine. No wonder they are losing so badly...they never learn.

So amazing to see russia making the same mistake they made in Afghanistan...but now in Ukraine. Going bankrupt again.

medvedev is a talking head and knows nothing.,,...his threats are alll the boy who cried wolf...no one pays attention to him, and the war crimes tribunals after russia surrenders will hold him accountable
