Chinese people prefer "庙街" to "阿穆爾河畔尼古拉耶夫斯克"， the former is shorter and carries meaning, the later is just a phonetic translation of "Nikolayevsk-on-Amur (Russian: Никола́евск-на-Аму́ре".
