  1. Russia has more nukes, but not by a wide margin. Not sure how they came to an agreement on the numbers.

  2.  @BettyWhite2171  According to The Federation of American Scientists, the US has 5044 warheads, while Russia has 5580. But these warheads could be deployed on different systems, e.g. one country could have fewer missiles but more warheads per missile, etc. It's my understanding that both parties are aware of the other's inventory, and that they have discussed this many times and come to some sort of agreement.

  3.  @BettyWhite2171  Apparently, during the height of the cold war, in the mid-80s, the two countries had a combined 70,000 warheads. That's a lot!
