@stevevbell "google Fontera, Abbott, and Feihe Dairy co. ( formerly American Dairy Co. )" Fonterra (not Fontera) is a New Zealand cooperative owned by New Zealand farmers. Feihe Dairy is a Chinese company. It was formerly known as American Dairy, but that was just a name. It has always been Chinese, and never American. Abbott is American. They have a single plant in China producing infant formula for the Chinese market. There are other foreign companies in China producing infant formula, but that is a negative growth industry as the number of babies born in China continues to decrease year by year. Fewer babies=less formula.

Milk? China hardly exports any milk, but imports a lot. In fact, China imports 200 times more than it exports. And what is this American company you are referring to? Surely, it cannot be MengNiu or Yili, the two biggest players in the market.

@stevevbell Just FYI, China consumes 20 million tons of milk and milk-derived products per year. That's about 14 liters/person/year.
