Chinese people have also never experienced war on their soil since the Civil War so the Chinese people do not have any memory of the devastation to life and property that war entails (except for those who were older than 4 in 1949. They will now be at least 78 years old). Of course China has been at war in Korea, Vietnam, India, but that was not on their own soil.
