0:37 "a new trend: Cleaning with enzymes, instead of harsh chemicals". Ok, ok, ok, let's see. Hand soap uses neither enzymes nor 'harsh chemicals', though what 'harsh chemicals' refers to seems to be a matter of opinion. Hand soap has existed since the middle ages and possibly before. Hand soap does tend to dry out your skin, because the purpose of soap is to remove oils and fats from your skin. That's the reason you wash your hands in the first place. Laundry detergent has been using enzymes to clean your clothes since the 1960s. In fact, the enzyme industry turns over billions of US$ every year, hardly a new trend.

@ItsAsparageese No problem. When I was a kid in the 70s, I was told by my mom that our detergent was especially good because there were enzymes in it. I didn't know what they were, but I remember being told.

@ItsAsparageese Here's a short quote taken from Wikipedia: "The five classes of enzymes found in laundry detergent include proteases, amylases, lipases, cellulases, and mannanases. They break down proteins (e.g. in blood and egg stains), starch, fats, cellulose (e.g. in vegetable puree), and mannans (e.g. in bean gum stains) respectively."
