The UK has had, it's own nuclear deterrent, since 1952. Nuclear weapons on UK soil, is not new! They have been there, since 1954! 😂😂 Keep up! 😂😂

The UK has had US nuclear weapons, on it's soil, since 1954! This isn't 'news'! 😂🤣😂🤣 'US nuclear weapons were first based in the UK in 1954, notably at RAF Greenham Common and RAF Molesworth, but also at RAF Lakenheath, which at one time had shelters to store as many as 110 air launched B61 nuclear bombs.'

It's Russia that's making CONSTANT threats, regarding the use of nuclear weapons. Wise up.

@margaretha907 That's actually not correct! 'The UK's nuclear deterrent is operationally independent. Only the Prime Minister can authorise the use of our nuclear weapons even if deployed as part of a NATO response. We would consider using our nuclear weapons only in extreme circumstances of self-defence, including the defence of our NATO allies.'

'One of the most common myths around the system is that the United States has control over the UK’s Trident missile system, that is not the case. The Trident missile system is housed on the UK’s four Vanguard class submarines which form the UK’s strategic nuclear missile force. Each of the four boats are armed with up to 16 Trident II D5 SLBMs, carrying up to 8 warheads each. It’s often said that the UK’s Trident nuclear weapons system is not ‘independent’ or that the UK doesn’t have the ability to use the system without the US agreeing to it, in reality the UK does retain full operational control over the system.'

@paulodelacruz8899 It would NEVER be, UK v Russia. The UK is one of the founding members of NATO. Thus, if WW3 began, it would be NATO v Russia. NATO and Russia combined, have enough nuclear weapons to end the worlds civilisation, many, many times over. Saying that, even with Russia's 5,977 nuclear warheads, the UK's nuclear arsenal alone, would reduce Russia, to a radioactive wasteland, too!

Also, until Russia invaded Ukraine, Sweden & Finland had NO INTENTION of joining NATO. Ukraine is an Independent, Sovereign and Democratic country. It has been, since 1991. The then Soviet leader, Boris Yeltsin, signed the legally binding agreement. Russia broke the Budapest Memorandum (treaty). Ukraine, understandably, doesn't not/did not trust Russia. Joining NATO, has absolutely nothing to do with Russia. It's a choice, Ukraine has the right, to independently, make.
