this country already pays millions if not billions in taxes that are already supposed to go to things like this. it's not our fault if these funds are being misappropriated.

@taylorlatch2635 if you are in the US your DOT does not do the building. they do the maintenance. there is always an outside company that puts their bid in and gets picked to do the work. the DOTs are stretched thin enough as it is without doing the actual work. if your DOT was the one doing the work, projects would take 10 times as long and wouldn't be even close to the same quality.

@NWOterminated considering my roads aren't shit and we don't have any bridges in the red, we have one of the larges train yards in the country and it's still up to code. i would say yes my taxes are mostly going to where they need to be. though my state is also mostly red. and you can see it as you move into the more blue parts of the state that the roads and things do get a bit bumpy but overall we're in pretty good shape. the fed taxes may be a different story.
