  2. in missouri they don't have to be at your door step or in your house. if they are in your yard or on any property you own or lease and you have legitimate reason to believe you are in danger of losing your life, you can legally defend yourself. there were people in that mob that were armed, if any one of the armed persons stepped foot into his yard and he deemed it reasonable, he could have legally shot them. after watching months of these mobs getting out of hand he was right to arm himself. should he have gone out in the yard? probably not. but what he did wasn't illegal.
