Russia has no real hypersonic missiles. They have primitive ballistic and ballistic air-to-surface missiles, all of which go above Mach 6 in their approach phase anyway, and they call them hypersonic missiles. The US already had the GAM-87 Skybolt in 1962, which reached a speed of Mach 12 in its ballistic phase. But the US wasn't so desperate as to call it hypersonic.

@redcbjj Absolutely every medium-range ballistic missile has a hypersonic midcourse phase and approach phase. But constantly parroting the buzzword Oreschnik is a successful method to distract from the fact that this 30 to 40 ton missile is just a pro pa ganda joke and is a lot more expensive than its previous targets.

@annebayrou2154 Maybe you should find out about the Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW), also known as Dark Eagle, which entered service in 2023?

@djordjedangubic7270 Regarding real US hypersonic missiles, you should perhaps find out about the Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW), also known as Dark Eagle, which entered service in 2023?

@redcbjj I'm just trying to educate the uneducated.

@rodolfojrco Maybe Putin also likes challenges and we should give Dark Eagle to Ukraine and he will designate a building in Moscow and set up his air defense?

@alitharealist4730 Lol...According to Russian sources, the ballistic air-to-surface missile Ch-47M2 Kinschal reaches Mach 10 and is called a hypersonic missile. The US AGM-48 Skybolt air-to-ground ballistic missile reached Mach 12 alredy in the 1960s.

@alitharealist4730 A hypersonic weapon is a combat missile that is hypersonic for a long time (i.e. faster than Mach 5), maneuverable and uses the Earth's atmosphere for lift. Although intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) also reach speeds of over Mach 20, these (like other ballistic missiles) follow a well-predictable trajectory predominantly through space after the propulsion phase and have little maneuverability when re-entering the atmosphere. They are therefore not considered hypersonic weapons Oreshnik and Kinschal are both ballistic missiles whose hypersonic endurance and maneuverability have not been proven in any way during this phase. They are therefore not actual hypersonic missiles. Only the US Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW), or Dark Eagle, has truly demonstrated this capability so far.
1
@alitharealist4730 Again, most ballistic missiles reach top speeds of at least Mach 5 but that is not the definition of a hypersonic weapon. A hypersonic missile can fly in the supersonic range for a long time and remain fully maneuverable. Even ICMBs, which all top speeds above Mach 15, are therefore not hypersonic weapons but rather just intercontinental ballistic missiles with a high top speed.

@jeffscott3919 I'll tell you a secret, the T-34 was also designed and built in Ukraine.
1
@jeffscott3919 Regarding the S 400, I recommend searching for "S-400 fails" - the system is not even able to intercept 30-year-old ATACMS or drones with lawn mower engines. It's a complete pro pa ganda joke.
1
@jeffscott3919 At 5,000 tons, one US Starship from Spacex alone is probably already heavier than the entire Russian space industry. And Starship, like Falcon and Falcon Heavy, is capable of landing. Russia is at least 50 years away from this.

@redcbjj I'm just trying to add some reality to the parrots in the fairytale forest.

@MarkoVeselic I have the reality, that's enough. You have nothing except pro pa ganda...
1
@PaarseKrokodil In the so-called reality, maybe you should try it too?
1
@Rash4822 And now they're desperately showing off their Oreshnik as if it were a new invention...
