All our empires existed in Europe before ww1 including the ottoman empire I can't speak for nations where them ottoman empire used to be but ours in western Europe that went all around the world have been replaced by nation states I guess it was the same for the ottoman empire.

There should have been peace in Palestine in 1993 everything was fine and everyone happy untill the Israeli prime minister yatzhik Rabin got assisnated. The reasons we was in Afghanistan twenty years and the reasons we was only in Iraq around 6 years is because of the many different people in that region.

You now bashed and criticised the west so much even if we sent in ground troops now to sort that mess out we would get accused of taking sides and killing people. I can remember Iraq before we withdrew from there the second time we was told some people you can do nothing for.

One thing I can promise you all down there when Syria and Lebanon was under french mandates and Palestine under the British before 1948 and when we gave many nations in the Arab world and Islamic world independence I bet you didn't have these problem's with us after ww1.

@thegreyarea-WPP it wasn't savage. Infact we supported the arabs that's why nations came into existence under British mandated Palestine and French mandated Syria and Lebanon. Our rule ended in 1948.

@thegreyarea-WPP go and see who nations got independence off in the Arab world and the dates independence is when a nation becomes established. The problem was always the ottoman empire.

@thegreyarea-WPP the ottoman empire was a European empire before ww1 we was a land of empires apart from a few nations we had given independence to mainly in the west before ww1 our empires still existed today they don't but nation states have taken there place.

@thegreyarea-WPP you seem a good man we want people to understand this before ww1 Europe was a land of empires we are not today and ultimately the modern day middle east stems from ww1 our empires don't exist today but nation states do instead. The world before ww1 and ww2 is completely different today and Europe itself is nothing like it was 30 years ago.

@thegreyarea-WPP In British I can talk to you we had the biggest empire in recorded history lot's of that still existed after ww2 for example we can't talk about things but understand why we are doing this.

@thegreyarea-WPP there's more divide in Europe over this then the middle east I dont even argue about history with people anymore. I was not educated in what I know and I took a different path. It was difficult for us Brits growing up in the UK in the 70s and 80s to even talk about things like this or telling people what our empire was turning into and the world outside of Europe and even Europe itself that's totally different from 30 years ago

@thegreyarea-WPP because we put an end to ottoman rule the German empire and the central European empires at the end of ww1 that's why nations didn't exist before that apart from a few nations like America that where given independence by western European empires leading up to ww1.

@thegreyarea-WPP start with an empire map how the world was before ww1 and how many nations where In the world before ww1 and the date nations got independence from all over the world. Ore modern world history that stems from 1776 and modern world history for the best part is only 100 years old even more recent then that for some and not every empire was the same or against us.

@thegreyarea-WPP it effected my.life growing up in the UK. I used to try and talk about the Partioning of the ottoman empire Africa by western European empires the Partioning of India even about America and Australia the list is endless. Now people talk about history they have never lived and we can show people how the world has changed and what they truly have that stems from our history today and they still don't want it. Then I meet people like you that makes me feel proud of who I am even though I have nothing. Thank you it's people like you who keep me sane. The fact the world is not peaceful today is even more scary now then back then it has no reason behind it today.

@thegreyarea-WPP the sad thing itd not empire ending that's the problem but what Europe has turned into now they don't know how to deal with the past or future now here. That's why we try a more honest approach now. It's not the world and how far we have all come in 100 years now that's amazing but in a world we can communicate that's completely different then from ww2 let's say it's all caught up with us. It's a shame I know how I would deal with things now to many old people incharge of things now. History needs a update.
