The dollar has even been rising while the ruble has been appreciating. Cuz sanctions have never worked, we just need to look around.

@archief1 Do you really think the Iranians are hurting because of a lack of trade with the USA? It's certainly more to do with their policies. Case in point, the US's main exports like oil and entertainment and tech the persians don't even want in their country because it would subvert their authority. Iran doesn't miss hardly anything without business with the West, just some exotic fruits, weapons and Christian bibles.

@archief1 That has nothing to do with western technology. They have access to China's manufacturing and almost nothing industrial needs a 5nm process node. ARM and RISC-V are out there and open to engineer too. The West doesn't actually produce useful goods beyond oil, they just don't have branded iPhones... which probably means that have better national OPSEC than non-sanctioned countries lol. We in the West also use Russian technology for nuclear power plants, just not russian chips because we use Windows XP instead, which says a lot about both countries and says even more about the uselessness of sanctions.
