Gavlick Apthesycerski to some people it's tantamount to losing contact with family, except worse because it's "spiritual" and thus more valuable. not everyone, but people that work for churches are probably more likely to fall into the category of "church people are my family" more than others. I have a single solitary anecdotal reference as the basis for my position lol. full disclosure, not air tight.

  4. Gavlick Apthesycerski you've clearly never been raised in a community. if you can't empathize, sympathize. Hyopthetically, you like commenting on youtube. What if america and all the people in it believed differently from you and you were cut off from everyone you knew. It's not and wasn't a big deal for me, for many others, it's their entire lives.

Gavlick Apthesycerski to deviate slightly on a related thought, i think people that get that attached to their inclusion in a group like that probably have deeper unresolved issues that makes them more reactive to being snubbed from the community. yeah it is a neat dynamic. i grew up in a christian church, going 4 times a week for like 14 years. i never felt anything as strong as "family" ties though, more of a close-knit community. people get attached to all kinds of shit way less meaningful than a congregation lol

  8. kentagion i'm not sure that i agree with you. i've never met a muslim that declared himself as atheist. i also don't believe skin color has anything to do with aggressive tendencies. Britain, Germany, Russia and America have devastated the world several times over for respective personal gains.
