for a scientist, i'm always shocked that Jordan Peterson doesn't grasp the concept of hospitalization rates. it's not about "you", it's about maintaining a functioning healthcare system. Vaccines reduce hospitalization rates, and reduces transmission - not eliminates transmission or hospitalization, it reduces it. Reducing an infection rate from 2 to 1.2 is dramatic across tens of millions of people. It's really basic science he chooses to pretend isn't validated by data and independently agreed upon across the world.

@AG-er5vmTG that's literally nothing but an exaggeration lol

@AG-er5vmTG key difference is, if we cared enough we could force a change in government and higher standards. Our apathy is not synonymous with slavery. We allow and enable censorship in state media, lack of accountability and ignorant nearsightedness. That's a far cry from gulags and re-education camps. You don't even know how good you have it or what your efforts could do if you hadn't already given up.

@stevek4654 it isn't fascist to respond to independently scientific research. People who believe Canada is fascist I doubt have ever experienced an iota of oppression even from the bleachers. It's not subjective, words have meanings and Canada does not fall under any definition of fascism or totalitarianism when viewed as a whole. When viewed through a hole, maybe, but never as a whole lol

@jeninlight or you could produce research to demonstrate the follies and make it better like the Canadians who did just that in making the country what you once loved. If it was done, and you admit it is possible, doing nothing about it kinda makes it equally your fault imho

@johngoldsworthy7135 lol ya, only people who don't build countries slander their own on comment feeds without proposing alternative approaches to making it better. Doing nothing about overwhelmed ICU and also having free healthcare require some finesse of thought lol Canada is wonderful, and imperfect. As Canadians it is our responsibility to make it better by thoughtfulness not waiting for someone else to fix our comfort levels for us.

@justinmccurdy9319 TLDR - look up the definition fascism, then historical examples, then contraste with reality lol nuff said

@geebee8989 which part of the government leaning towards privatizing social services sounds like a communist country to you? Which of our national exports are owned and operated by the governement? None. Only utilities, maybe partially? Free and open internet and net neutrality (public's best interest, not the state's), water, emergency healthcare services, roads and transit... Canada offers its human beings a very basic minimal safety net, one which doesn't even cover the cost of food and rent in total (hence beggers and homelessness). Nothing about this country is communist or fascist or totalitarian, or authoritarian if you look in the dictionary before spreading propagandists' agenda of spreading fear. You should spend your energy and efforts educating people, not spreading divisive lies about verifiable reality.

You're doing it too, right now! You know full well it's not "all the democrats" going woke crazy, it's literally always a minority of radical leftists just like the radical right is a minority of Conservatives. The thing you're talking about is the thing you did while talking about it! Lol
