  1. At 1:35:00 the guest says Marxism should provide a critique of capitalism which suggests how to increase access to the market and participate in property market but Marxism is bollocks... But that's exactly what Marx spoke of. He spoke of profit sharing and limiting corporate power over people. It was literally all of the things he claims is absurd about the Marxists who "don't know what they're talking about" lol. Little bit ironic. Also Venuzuela and Cuba failed because of exogenous threats just as much as internal corruption did, and corruption is still rotting us from the inside out. The arguments against are just as vapid as the arguments for, without acknowledging that fact he's not keeping with his own advice about us all being "more scientific about history" as he earlier criticized critical race theory and gay studies fields. It seems wildly hypocritical to me to promote a sensible process and reading 900 page books on Stalin and Hitler but claiming he knows Marxism without spending a day reading Marx. No problem for a person to not understand something, but for him to pretend on record that he knows better is patently fabricated. The things he says Marx should've wrote about Marx did indeed write a lot about. Great episode Lex, really enjoyed this discussion for the most part.
