  1. This guy doesn't grasp time very well. Even 100 yrs in evolutionary terms is a quick mutation, viruses do that though. They mutate often and quickly. They don't "try" to survive they, aren't alive, just tumbling molecules and entropy (aka time). To go from trackable SARS to well adapted SARS in 15 years time is very reasonable by the data & stats.
