If the income gap is widening and consumer debt is exploding, to say lending stimulates the economy is literally equivalent to saying rich people deserve to spend more with less cost, and thus earn more with less productivity, while also paying less in taxes and labour for the privilege. Sometimes things aren't opinions they're logically relative.
