  3. Ukraine's violently mentally ill will become terrorists to Russians, and Russians will use those small minority of radicals to justify further annexation / invasions. Ukraine can't concede or they'll only wind up losing their home and culture permanently in the long run. Russia losing without new lands will mean they will take Ukrainian terror strikes and still be too shy to retaliate. The threshold is too narrow to give up anything on an unprovoked invasion after Putin spent months lying about not preparing to invade when asked point blank. It's one thing to be up front about self defense, but this was just straight invasion. There's no case to do anything but apply decades long réparations like the world did to Germany after their unprovoked invasion. Not to punish Russian people, but to prevent future calamity
