  1. Exactly, Styx! "Fake news" is a canard; so is "election manipulation/meddling". It's an assault on truth value: "listen to us, the truth=the facts". This is not a valid assessment of the nature of "truth". People judge the values of facts, opinion, and experience together in a complex/peculiar way to arrive at the "truth". This cannot be done by machines/logic, and it cannot be done by someone else for you. The MSM has been conflating facts and truth for decades in its bid to be your "brain"/controller in the service of advertisers, the MSM's bottom line. The "competition" represented by the alt-media is not so much financial competition (at least not directly) as viewership competition. The MSM's ability to be your "brain" is what is directly threatened by alternative fact sets; and this ability is the basis of MSM's capacity to exist. It's not about who's smarter, who has the most facts, but about who's right, whose "narrative" rings true.
