  1. The history of ketchup is passably fascinating. It takes its roots from oriental fish sauce. Early recipes are positively revolting! "Leave the fish in a barrel in the sun for three months..." is as far along in the recipe as I got...It developed into a much sought after condiment. Then it changed...tomatoes?...sugar?...it's not what it used to be, but still a global tradition.
