  1. Organic riots don't have LEGS! They are relatively easily quelled because the rioters' organization was impromptu--not well-considered or prepared. A greater level of organization is necessary to maintain a week-long riot...However, this calculation presupposes RESISTANCE to the rioters, especially by police authority. If the word-of-mouth is you can loot with impunity, well, yeah, that could provide sufficient impetus to sustain the rioting, organically.
