You say, hexen, all that's gonna happen is we buy more stuff from countries other than China; but I think that's a game-changer: more, and better, players only improve the quality of the global economic game. A curious dynamic is introduced by the game play: the most successful player must necessarily destroy the game (i.e. become a monopoly). As the goal of the game is pursued, players are eliminated as they become unable to compete with the larger players, because larger size carries economic and political advantages. Average people benefit the most from there being many players in the game.
