  1. I'm always embarrassed for any reporter who asks anything like, "Are all options on the table?" What's the anticipated answer? "No, I prefer to negotiate with one hand tied behind my back"? Or, the damning, "All options are on the table; there are no limits to the actions we can perform". How ominous in tone! Approaching headline material! Everyone watching CNN: "I feel comfortable with them because everybody there is as stupid as I am. They make stuff I don't care about seem important, which is fun." If Trump were to say, "All options are open", then, technically, the headline could read, "Trump says he might nuke Venezuela!" Right? That's why it's unwise to give a straight answer to a crooked question.
