  1. No, they don't "announce" the president HAS BEEN impeached! A democrat speaks in the senate: "Mr. President, you are impeached". At that point, the "impeachMENT" is compete. Having VOTED to impeach is not "impeachment". I encourage people to get on board with the distinction! It's the difference between "conceptual" and "actual"...and it's viciously meaningful!

  2. I think they should have to do the impeachment vote again, as the congressional SESSION wherein the impeachment vote took place has ended with the impeachment process INCOMPLETE. The business of the previous session has to be made the business of the new session. Perhaps they could vote to "bring over" the vote from the previous session...idk; but they have to do SOMETHING...there are some curious ramifications of "session ending"...having to do with "vacation/abdication of government"...weird shit, yes, but that's what makes the world go 'round, eh?...hehehe...
