This has produced a heightened sensitivity. Think about the natural process of "desensitization" that allows us to exist moment-to-moment without the constant distraction of trivial and transient sensations: your body very early learns to ignore this noise at a very low level--so we don't feel like we got ants crawling on our skin all the time! Had our senses not been assaulted, our sensitivity would have remained. Think about "sensory deprivation": when your senses are deprived of stimulation sensitivity increases...until the slightest breeze is excruciatingly painful. That's where we are now with these pampered leftists, who simply never learned to manage reality dynamically. It's in that process that we forge our personal pathways of tolerance that allow us to be comfortable in ANY "space", instead of requiring "safe spaces"...'cause..."we just can't handle it, man". Back in the day, if you couldn't "hang", you "chilled". Nowadays, you FREAK OUT!
