But when you...discount yourself, there's no locus to which the pain can attach. You may see the pain, or feel it after a fashion, but not AS painfulness, but as pure, though, perhaps, intense, sensation. You exist, can experience the sensation, AND it doesn't matter to you. Take the liberty to be more than "human".
