  1. On the contrary, there is ALWAYS an economy: barter capitalism, as shown by Nobel winner, Milton Friedman, is what people naturally do. It's not a state-generated high-dollar economy, but it ALWAYS works. But there IS great value in the state's ability to protect the people, especially from privateers who have the resources to mobilize military force comparable to a small country. It's always, everywhere, going to be about walking the line, to avoid the pitfalls of too much bad AND too much good.
