  1. I think Trump is genuinely sad at the demise of the dem party; he grew up with the business dems, right? He's most comfortable sitting just left of center. He wants to bring the schism to a head, so that all parties can see clearly the madness at the root of the division, and be appropriately motivated to unify, whatever that might mean. A damaged, inoperative dem party doesn't do Trump a lot of good...
