  1. Your mind won't "shut up"? Did you TELL IT TO SHUT UP?! You'll have to consistently tell it to shut up; at first, it'll pay little attention; with practice you can break its unruliness. But you gotta be consistently ON TOP OF IT! It's a battle of wills: your conscious will and your unconscious will (the "animal", the "monkey mind"). If you don't execute diligently and persistently, the animal will win. As soon as you give up, you're lost...and the unruliness will be worse than ever. So, consider well, before you take up such an effort...
