  1. You know what's REALLY occult (i.e. "hidden")? Existing alternatives to the germ theory of disease are rigorously ignored, largely as a threat to the scientific status quo. Let's see, how's it supposed to work? You run the scientific method, and use what works until you can come up with something better. Right? Because you always want something "better": a more thorough explanation/understanding of reality, which allows better manipulation of reality. Duh. At least until politics gets involved--which is always. Over 30 years into the "war on cancer", and what 'cha got? Nothing. The accepted conventional theories seem inadequate to the more difficult tasks, don't they?
