Hypothesis 4 illustrates the only difference demonstrated between men and women, especially considering men experience less action regret, according to the study. The result indicated men learn less well from their experience. But, more the point to me, there's a misunderstanding of "regret" on the part of the researchers. If they judge, "I wish I hadn't done that" as an expression of "regret", they are casting a very wide net. Even the idea that "regret" is an "emotion" is suspect. Most sociological studies have value only to other sociologists. This one appears to be no exception...
