  2. They're still doing kernal work, they're just not pushing those patches upstream. And i don't blame them. I write Linux kernal drivers for OT and smart devices. Absolutely no point whatsoever in trying to incorporate any of it into the kernel - despite it providing additional leverage to incorporate the Linux OS in embedded products, because the moment you attempt it, you are met with a wall of vile hate-spitting vitriolic ridicule, claiming your code violates various conventions/rules etc even when it doesn't. The truth is you're stepping on someone's toes - and they don't like it. So screw 'em. I don't need the hassle.
