  1. The Democrats are going for broke. They mean to harass and defame him for as long as they can, no matter what it costs them in political capital. Why? How can disgracing themselves and their party by hounding a distinguished jurist they know to be innocent of any crime possibly benefit them? The Left plays a long game. They know from experience that persistence pays off against weak Republicans, of which we have an abundance. They can count on the gutter media to support them in defaming their victim for as long as needed, thus influencing "educated" liberals and the ignorant masses, of which we also have an abundance.
