I lived in China before, for several years. I had several GF s, only two asked me for money, it was not much though, they would ask me to buy them a dress or shoes sometimes. All these gals were over 28 though and I was 45 at the time. One gal wanted me to marry her though, and move to Chengdu, her home city. She said we can just rent a nice apartment, no need to buy, but she said I would have to marry her. I didn't marry her, and my work visa expired so I just came back to Australia.

Personally, that wouldn't bother me. As long as she is loyal, affectionate, has modest wants, can do basic cooking, and enjoys sex on a fairly regular basis, that's fine. A lot of these gals are over the top with make up though. Having said all that, you probably can't really believe what these gals say, would have to observe them IRL, action speaks louder than words.

No, most ex pats in China will not pay a dowry. I met three women in my 8 years there that I considered marrying, but I told them, " no dowry", and I m not buying a house or car either. They were fine with that, they said to just rent a nice place is ok, one was 28, another 38, and one 40 year old gal. All were divorced though. One of them a single mother, the other ones divorced, no kids. I didn't marry though, I had already been through a divorce a few years earlier. I just felt maybe it was not so wise, however they seemed to be kind and decent women.

@lionedheart Yes, some Chinese women will marry black men, they don't care, many just want a foreign husband, but some Chinese women really don't like blacks at all. I m Australian but I lived in China for quite a while. There are quite a few Chinese gals who are open to nationality, they might also marry a Japanese or Korean man

I m an older Aussie guy who lived in China for eight years ( 2008 till 2016 ) If you can find a kind and simple Chinese woman they can be a decent partner, but it's rare nowadays. Most women are greedy af there.
