Turkey is in a very unique and important position. It controls the Bosphorous, as well as important land routes. For thousands of years, those that controlled the shipping lanes and trade routes, controlled wealth and power. I was thinking of BRICS as an economic alliance more than any other. Is it weaponized? Or, should it be compared to the EU, rather than NATO? Is it a trade concern, or concern of power and influence, or both?

@vatansevervatan8373 Erdogan, like Modi of India, wants to have the best of both worlds.i think Putin's Russia is more of a concern than China. Putin believes that war with America is inevitable. He has been engaged in a cyberwar with America and all western powers for several years already. Xi Jinping primarily wants to increase trade worldwide and try to take America's position as the world's largest economy. However, he is watching the war in Ukraine very attentively. He wants to know if we in the collective west are willing to fight for what we believe. Will we defend our way of life. Xi Jinping is eyeing the lucrative markets of Asia and the expanding IT capabilities in Taiwan. Chips. Lots of computer chips. Putin's ambitions are currently more worrisome because he see himself as the new Russian Tsar that will reconstitute the so-called Russian Empire. His insidious plans are a danger to Europe and the current rules-based world order. More than anything, he wants Russia to be a "player" on the world stage and counter what he sees as "US hegemony" of Europe and other areas. The danger is in the fact that he is willing to go to any lengths to achieve his goals. He's proven repeatedly his psychopathic lack of concern for the lives of anyone, even his own troops. If Putin is not stopped in Ukraine, all bets are off.
