There was a time when the Tampa metro area was a state gem, that only Floridians only knew about. But it's safe to say that our secret is out, more and more people are moving to Tampa and the surrounding areas. Tampa, Clearwater, St Pete and the Sarasota areas have become very popular in the last 5 or 6yrs. Cities all around the bay area is seeing a population increase. I've been living in Florida for 32yrs, I moved from south Florida to the Tampa metro area 12yrs ago. It's just cheaper than south Florida, and it's got more to offer I think. A lot of new shops and businesses have opened, the whole metro area is becoming more diverse. Matter of fact the entire west coast of Florida is seeing a population boom lately. In the last few years a lot of tech companies have been moving in, great night life and craft brewery scene. It's a lot cheaper than Miami, Fort Lauderdale and the southeast coast where I used to live. Plus it's more laid back and relaxing too. To anyone thinking of or planning a move to the Tampa area I welcome you and I look forward to seeing you.

@cur244 and We welcome anyone who wants to live here. Now as for the snowbirds who come down only a few months out of the year to escape the cold winter back home that's another story. They come down here blocking traffic causing accidents they don't know where they're going complaining about how hot it is and asking stupid questions like. "Is the weather hot enough for you? Is it always this hot? How do you deal with the heat?" Duh, we live here we have only two seasons, hot and hot as hell, it was hot yesterday, it's hot today, it'll be hot tomorrow, deal with it until you go home I don't need their weather commentary. Is that more like the Floridians you know? Lol.

@cur244 Tell me about it, making a right turn from the left lane, a U-turn in a no U-turn area, switching lanes w/o signaling. Oh and my all time favorite cutting across 4 lanes cutting off everyone else to make an exit. (That one totalled my 016 gt350, some a-hole from Massachusetts) As far as moving here, they wanna be like us, lol. The northerners are funny though, the best one is watching then run out on the hot sand before they realize it's hot as hell. My wife and I laugh or asses off watching them, it takes awhile before you get used to the hot sand.
