Yes there's some affordable places to live in Florida. The closer to the coast the more you're going to have to pay. Sarasota has some nice affordable areas as well, when I was moving from Coral Springs I researched a lot of these areas. Before my wife and I settled on Lutz FL, (a Tampa suburb) There's also affordable places around Tampa too. It's when you start looking at southeast Florida you'll get price shock. Some of the crappiest places in south Florida are overrated and over priced. Coral Springs is a nice area but was getting over ran with pretentious a-holes is why I left. Made a killing on the sale of my old house though, twice the price than what it cost me.

@tolpacourt Yes, pretentious a-holes. I'd been living there for almost 20 years, always owned a custom lifted pick up parked in my driveway. (My daily driver) In 2016 the HOA comes to me and tells me I can't park my truck in my driveway I need to put it in the garage. With all the mods it costs more than a Mercedes or BMW 8 series my truck is not a good representation of the community. So my wife and I packed our stuff put the house on the market and moved to Lutz, I have a 2022 custom lifted F450 platinum dually in my driveway and no one says anything about it. Not everyone likes or wants to drive a BMW overrated, overpriced piece of #*#*.

@kellyanderson6245 It was pretty cheap when I bought my home and remodeled it. It starting to get up there in price now that the words out that Tampa is a good place to live. For decades it was Florida's forgotten city because it was on the west coast of Florida. Now people have learned about the white sand beaches on the Gulf.

@Peace-nz3jx When I moved to Florida in 92, nice areas in Miami were affordable. Then South Beach became popular with the celebrities and prices jumped up, They even blighted area of nice homes in a gated community so the University of Miami could build their new stadium. (claiming eminent domain) The price jumped again.Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach used to be very reasonable now it just a bunch of over priced crap. Homeless and meth heads walking the streets and they want you to pay top dollar for that, not.

@rachelpatterson2327 Yes in the last few years since I've moved in 2016 the cost have increased. Looks like our secret is out, Tampa is up and coming. We're no longer Florida's forgotten city, people enjoy warm water of the Gulf and the white sandy beaches and the laid back style of Tampa. That drives the cost up, still we're more responsible than South Florida for now. 🤞🏾
