  9.  @somchai272  Roe v Wade meant the government wasn't involved. The ruling gave individuals the right to decide for themselves without government interference. I'm not sure how much more uninvolved the government can get.

  14.  @beeforeal5497  There aren't actually "abortion clinics" in the strictest sense. Clinics that provide abortions provide all kinds of health care. They provide cancer screenings, STD testing and treatment, pelvic exams, birth control, prenatal care, vaccines, treatment for sexual dysfunction and so on and so forth.

Allowing the state to make those decisions for individuals is the antithesis of keeping big government out of our business.

  16. The Indiana legislators will NOT allow the abortion question on the ballot. They already struck it down. Idaho, Missouri and other states with total or near total abortion bans are not going to let the people vote on this issue. It won't happen. So if the goal of the SCOTUS decision was for states to control women and not allow the people to decide, then they succeeded.

  18.  @cmsmhp  Indiana shot down a proposal to put abortion on the ballot. Idaho isn't going to allow a vote. Neither is NC or Oklahoma. Unless you live in a state that already codified abortion like Kansas, the entire thing is in the hands of big brother.

  20.  @beeforeal5497  It's in the Kansas Constitution. The anti choice faction proposed a referendum to change the state Constitution, which had to be voted on. Regardless of their dishonest tactics, purposefully confusing wording, and sliding it into a primary election, they failed miserably.

  24. Your lungs don't begin functioning until after you're born. Until then the umbilical cord carries oxygen to the fetus. That being said, without oxygenated blood circulating through the body you will suffer brain death. That's why the heart and lungs are pretty important - they keep all your necessary organs functioning. It's also why the longer it takes to resuscitate a person the more likely they are to suffer permanent brain damage, or not come back at all. You are the culmination of your mind. A person begins with their first thought and ends with their last.

  25.  @brianoden1798  You've got it ass backwards. SCOTUS decided under Roe v Wade that women had the Constitutional Right to abortion. They didn't say women had to have an abortion. So in fact Roe v Wade left the decision up to the individual not the government. The Dobbs decision took that right away from the individual and gave it to the government. The state is now the one who makes that decision for you. Before you bring up the voters getting to have their say, let me remind you that Kansas is the only state that has allowed voters to decide this issue.

All those horrible things are happening because SCOTUS took the decision away from the individual and gave it to the state. THESE WOMEN ARE THE PEOPLE, and they are no longer allowed to make their own decisions. So enough with the bullshit lie that people were given the power to make their own choices when in fact it's the state that makes it for them.

Women didn't have to carry a dead fetus inside them for weeks on end. Women weren't sent home to bleed in a bathtub for 48 hours. It is NOT fine that people suffer because of some old white guy's misplaced "values."

  32. No SCOTUS didn't put the decision in the hands of the voters. The state now controls women. Do you think Idaho or Oklahoma etc. are going to put abortion up for a vote? Of course they aren't. The only state that's had a vote on this is Kansas. Abortion was codified into law and anti choicers wanted the state constitution changed. That's the only reason Kansans got a vote.

Stop it. Btw, the law is equitable. Nowhere does it say men can't get an abortion. And once there is a child, both parents are responsible for supporting that child. That is equity under the law. Nature is far from fair or equal. Women are the ones who are responsible for pregnancy. Women are the ones responsible for childbirth. Women are the ones whose bodies are changed forever. And you're complaining how this is unfair to men? Seriously??

  37.  @mike-gv2ol  I don't know how else to say this but the majority of anti choicers aren't very bright. Many of them are incredibly cruel. Late term abortions are heartbreaking for the woman and her family. Intrauterine fetal demise, fetuses that have formed organs on the outside of their bodies, exposed brains or partial brains are all heart wrenching. Placenta previa, pre-eclampsia, pulmonary embolism are just a few conditions that threaten the life of the woman. But the anti choicers don't bother with facts or they just don't care. That's on them.

  38. Before the Dobbs decision all women had the right to make this personal decision without government interference. SCOTUS took the right to make that decision from the individual and gave it to the state. No one is cheering that stupid ruling except anti choicers. You aren't going to see states like Idaho or Oklahoma putting this up for a vote. States that have not codified abortion access into law are now controlling women, and they don't get a say.
