  8.  @trinatrust6408  well if that's the case then you're saying nuclear war is inevitable so we should help ukraine as that will be our optimal outcome. Let me explain. If we don't help ukraine, russia will continue to invade countries. They have already said they plan to invade moldova, so a direct confrontation between nato and russia would occur with nukes. This would be a parity conflict so we would suffer equally to russia. If we aid Ukraine then, as you claim, russia uses nukes on ukraine, then we will use nukes on russia (as we have told russia we will) which would give us a 1st strike advantage, destroying some of russia's nuclear capacity and reducing the damage russia could do to us. It's amusing that even in your imaginary scenarios it's still better to support ukraine.
