Train crew don't want to strike, but the government is using your tax money (500m so far spent) to cause these strikes. I could explain the mechanism but it's rather lengthy, the point is you are literally PAYING tax to CREATE the strikes which is truly insane.

@billlot5329 A deal, for example to agree to get all the drivers back to work, would cost £29m and would come out of company profits, not taxpayers pockets. I hope that gives you an idea of how absurd it is for the government to be paying to create the strikes.

@fatherted2975 So use your brain for this one, but if the government sets the prices, who is responsible for the public being ripped off? Fares have gone up year after year but wages have been cut. The government have been funnelling your taxes into their pockets. I could explain how but it's pretty long winded.
