  1. American private health insurance companies are the enemy. They don’t want to be put out of business by a publicly funded universal healthcare system. They make billions, and they pay off the politicians with millions to keep it that way.

  2. Believe it or not our very big hospital parking fees are a major issue in Canada. It comes up from time to time. It’s no joke. A loved one is rushed to the hospital for some emergency and may be dying, then you finally go home and you’re hit with outrageously high parking fee. It’s the last thing you need when you lose a loved one.

Many Americans know a publicly funded health care system is cheaper for everyone, overall, but they’ve also been brainwashed to believe a universal publicly funded health care system is a form of Communism, and is therefore bad, and therefore they fight against it, which is exactly what the fat cats who own and profit from their private health insurance companies want them to believe. These people would rather go bankrupt paying for their daughters cancer treatment than demand a publicly funded health care system.
