Everyone always said: “be safe”. But no one ever told me: “be healthy”. The CDC never spend one second telling people how they could be healthy, or healthiER, in the face of this virus. No public health official ever told us how we could build and support our own built-in, god-given immune systems to help deal with the symptoms of covid. Not one second was spent on dealing with out health or getting healthier. And before you say it, a vaccine does not make you healthy

Masking prevent ps any viruses or pathogens you may have from circulating within your community, every time you cough, talk to a stranger, sneeze, sing, shout at a sporting event. This is how pathogens spread evolve, and it is also how our immune systems keep on their toes. Masking will eventually make us weaker and more vulnerable to diseases like viruses and bacteria.

If spending too much time indoors and too much time looking at our phones are the main contributing factors for near-sightedness, then the lockdowns were near-sightedness on steroids. The lockdowns ordered everyone to stay at home, indoors, never go out except for essentials like food and doctors appointments. Hey closed the gyms, cancelled summer camp for kids, taped off children’s playgrounds with yellow Caution tape, and police arrested people for for going outside too much. As nations of free individuals we willingly submitted ourselves to voluntary house arrest. (Theses weren’t laws, they were recommendations). And during these lockdowns we collectively spent an inordinate amount of time on our screens, ordering mcDonalds from Uber eats, staying safe but staying un’-healthy. And then we wonder why we’ve become so short-sighted

Basements have always been a part of standard house contraction where I grew up, in Canada. It was only recently I discovered most homes in the US do not have basements. I suppose this has to do with costs, primarily, as well as the need for warmth from the earth, and perhaps population density and having extra space for excavated dirt (spoil).

Excellent and well produced video. A good overview of the technical as well as the human factors that contributed to the building failures and subsequent human tragedy

No other country in the world suffered the unusually high mortality rates that the US did. Yes, the vaccine should and must always be a personal and private decision. It should never be the government’s business, nor your employers, nor your neighbour’s business. Nor should it be anyone’s business on Facebook or Twitter, nor on FOX News. This was the problem; everyone’s vaccine status was allowed to become everyone else’s business, instead of remaining a private thing.

It’s about necessity, not ability, just like with animal traits. While intelligent they will only express those aspects which are crucial to their survival, and ignore those aspects which deal with non-essential behaviours, unless they are domesticated.

From recent news reports of the Gaziantep quake I noticed NO rebar visible in ANY of the collapsed structures and piles of rubble.
